This time would be different. Any ronin or foreigner that would stand in Nobunaga's way this time would likely end up dead. He had mustered a much larger force this time.
"Last time Musashi had gotten in our way Ranmaru, this time Mikawa is ours." Nobunaga shifted himself on his steed and relaxed himself for what he believed was going to be a long siege. Before it was just a town, now Oda had his eyes set on Mikawa as a whole. He'd expect a much larger force to be here as well. Though he didn't hesitate.
Him and his troupe would be traveling threw the forest, in between Owari and the Mikawa province. This forest was dense, it would easily hide his troops numbers. This would benefit him in the way that he had the element of surprise. Though the local warlord would most likely have some sort of fortifications set up, a long with numerous troops. It would not matter much to Nobunaga.
The time had come for Oda Nobunaga. Either he took Mikawa here and now or he would live up to his nickname of the 'Fool of Owari'. Despite his earlier achievements for taking Owari under his banner, that was an easy task, this was going to be much more difficult.
As the soldiers of Oda traveled threw the dense forest, the sun would begin to set. "The hour is ripe." Oda Nobunaga would mutter to himself. He would begin recalling his stratagems that he had come up with the last week.

(I wanted to have Simon mod this battle, to get him thrown into his staffy duties. Oh well, I shall do it. NPC information; I'm just going to have some retainer of the Tokugawa being the NPC officer here.)
-NPC Tokugawa Fushi
This fortification was nothing like that of the one Oda had recently taken in Owari. He would need to muster all of his strength to siege this fortress. Mikawa was a land of strong people, and as thus strong leaders. Tokugawa Fushi was the local retainer here, defending the main fortress within Mikawa. This fortress was the focal point of Mikawa, if Oda owned this he would own all of Mikawa.
The walls were high in stone, the gate was impenetrable by any means without a siege weapon. Oda would need to use his whits here to overcome this fortress. Fushi had a strong defending force here. A total of five hundred Samurai and five hundred Archers were positioned inside/outside/a top the wall.
Fushi would order his men to stay alert, he would of obviously heard of Nobunaga's evil acts in the last few days. Nobunaga had almost killed most of the townfolk in Mikawa, burning and killing them by the sword. He was however, forced to retreat due to Miyamoto Musashi and Zhuge Liang. Though they would play no part in this battle.

Turn Results:
Oda had set his eyes on this last bastion of defense for the Mikawa province. He was prepared for a siege, whether he had any siege equipment or not. As the Oda troupe traveled through the woods in the cover of darkness, the troops would be constructing ladders to get into the fortress.
Tokugawa Fushi is aware of Oda movements within Mikawa but not of the siege at hand quite yet. So, he continues his day as per-usual.
Troop Counts: Oda Nobunaga- 3,773 Ashigaru 1,000 Samurai
Tokugawa Fushi- 500 Samurai 500 Archers

Nobunaga came to a clearing, he could see the fortification in front of him. The distance however, was a good 60 yards. The Ashigaru would stay in the forest, constructing more and more ladders to besiege this fort. Without these ladders he wouldn't be able to gain access into this fort, without this access he had no hope to control this land. Unless he would come back at a later time with proper siege equipment however, Oda knew this. He had planned for it and adjusted accordingly.
These ladders would be the key ingredient to his success at besieging the fortifications here. Nobunaga didn't really care how many troops they possessed the only issue he saw here was the fact that they had fortifications set up. With the ladders being built by the Ashigaru units, the Samurai units would advance out of the woods. Oda Nobunaga just a few paces ahead of them, they would keep out of archer range.
"The hour is ripe and are plans are almost set into action." The time had come for Mikawa to fall, or so Oda though. He was intelligent and used what he needed to accomplish his goals. Without Miyamoto Musashi or the stranger from China, Zhuge Liang, in his way Mikawa was sure to fall, that is if Oda could gain access into the fort. Once his men were inside he could more than likely easily wipe the defending forces out. The Ashigaru would still be building more ladders and have not finished.

Tokugawa Fushi (NPC)
The silence could only be kept for so long and many men were getting fidgety, wishing to prove themselves as warriors to repel the Oda's attack, but their commander, Fushi Tokugawa, knew that their best chance at repelling the Oda's advance, was to hold in, and await the chance to move, so each of them was preparing for the chance to move, if the Oda were indeed coming.
The walls were high and therefore it was unclear where the archers were positioned, before Fushi entered with pride to the frontlines, before issuing orders, and pointing to where units were to go, as the archers inside the wall climbed the steps to the top of the wall and through the crooks in the wall, began looking for the banners of the Oda without revealing themselves, just so his men felt assured they were safe and know what was happening with the archers acting as guards on duty.
There was no pride if they left themselves open, which was why movement was as silent as can be, and why they were on scout to be ready for what may come, if any, while Fushi and the samurai remained inside, ready if anything happens.
However, the prideful men of Mikawa would not back down, no matter the numbers that they were up against.....

The time had almost arrived, for his invasion. The Ashigaru had been working vigilantly in the woods to prepare for the siege. The ladders would be very long to reach the top of the walls. As Nobunaga and his brigade of Samurai slowly crept out of the woods, their banners would be held high, bearing the crest of Oda no doubt.
Nobunaga, sitting atop his steed, would announce for the men behind the fortification to hear. "The time has come for the might of the Mikawa to be tested here once and for all." This may not have been the most strategic thing to do but nonetheless he had his plans. "What say you, men of Mikawa? Do you have what it takes to challenge me?!"
He was trying to lure them out, whether it would be successful would be up to the hearts of the men within the walls. If he could just bring some of them out, the fort would be that much less defended.
(Battle plans pm'ed to Simon, seeing as he is now modding. YAY!)

Tokugawa Fushi
All was peaceful and quiet until the archers returned to Lord Fushi and informed him of the Oda's appearance infront of their gates and the challenge Nobunaga presented to the warriors of Mikawa. Many wished to show them how true warriors they were, before Fushi spoke up.
"We will show them the pride of men from Mikawa! but we shall not fall for the enemy taunts. They are afraid of us, that is all. Now, move!!", as the archers rushed back up to the top of the walls near to where the Oda army resided. Behind them were the samurai to defend the archers should Oda decide to attack them back.
With all his troops on the walls, Fushi Tokugawa remained inside, before rushing up the steps to join his troops so he wasn't alone, before bellowing back, "If you wish to feel the strength of the warriors of Mikawa, then come forth instead of cowering so far away!!", remaining with his troops to keep his men from faltering, though not quite sure how long for.

Turn 3 Results: _______________
Oda Nobunaga completes preparations for the siege ladders as his ashigaru remain in the forest, before slowly exiting the forest with the built siege ladders and now charging for the side of the fort, while Nobunaga taunts and challenges the warriors of Mikawa.
Tokugawa Fushi orders his unit to the top of the wall and pays Nobunaga's taunt with one of his own as his archers' bows are all in the direction of Nobunaga and the troops round him, since they are not in range, while the samurai remain on defence for the archers around the wall.

Nobunaga would not be let into one of his own traps, no his taunts would continue. Ashigaru were sure to reach the side of the forts walls soon. With these troupe setting up ladders, they would gain entry into the stronghold. Though whether or not his Ashigaru would be a match for the Samurai on the walls would be a different story. However, Oda's troops were vast.
In turn to not give up on his own tactics. "Don't fret around inside of your fort. You dare call us cowards?" Nobunaga would let out a bellowing laugh. "The men of Mikawa are weak behind their walls, come forth and we shall see who is stronger!"
(I forgot to mention this in the pm's to you Simon, I had mention it to Daimyo but forgot as it switched staff for the battle. Sure this won't be an issue but Mori Ranmaru, my NPC Support Officer, is with the Ashigaru and said ladders. Sorry about that)

Tokugawa Fushi (NPC)
His men were positioned on the South, Southwest side of the Fort on the walls, after Oda's banners were sighted and the proud men of Mikawa looked straight ahead at the enemy before them. Ever since news of the Oda's advance was heard, the men of Mikawa prepared themselves, and now begun to get agitated when Oda began to taunt but soon passed it by when Fushi joined them and returned the taunt.
It ended up turning into a game of pass the parcel when Oda taunted once more, and though Fushi had reassured his men, it was hard for them all to stand and allow Nobunaga to disgrace the name of Mikawa in such a way. "Let the fool bark. The proud men of Mikawa stand their ground. The people of Mikawa are relying on us!", Fushi said aloud to his men.
However, some still wished to act and got fidgety, in which Fushi sighed, as the men asked permission to divide up and prepare to attack them and make them pay for their words if they managed to get inside. Fushi nodded and waved his hand, "Go! But no reckless action". Last thing he wished was to hold his men and bind them to his will...show a bit of flexbility here and there.
His 500 archers, 250 on South wall, 250 on Southeast wall, with 200 samurai behind them, while the other 100 charged away from the south wall and moved along it towards the stairs to climb back down, before one of them sighted something on the wall near to them and bellowed, "Invaders! Invaders!", as he told everyone to turn around, rushing back up the stairs and towards the invaders as soon as they can.
Some of them waved over to the main unit, hoping they'd catch sight of it, but just incase, one of them left their party to inform their leader. Regardless, the men of Mikawa would not back down though hoping they were not too late.

Turn 4 Results: (*Subject to overview) _______________
Oda Nobunaga continues his taunt to the warriors of Mikawa, whilst the Ashigaru under the command of Mori Ranmaru, sets ladders up on the East side of the wall while the enemy were occupied by Nobunaga and begin to climb. As soon as they arrive, they then move to their designations, only to be interrupted by the arrival of the samurai who have come towards the area they had climbed onto, and begin to attack them back, while some that were climbing felt themselves going backwards and falling due to the samurai's arrival.
Tokugawa Fushi is angered that all that Nobunaga could do was taunt, and even more so when his troops got agitated, so to prevent a revolt, he let them move to the gate in preparation to be the first to launch the attack to pay Nobunaga back for those words if and when they break through, but at the moment, Fushi saw Nobunaga's actions as folly, as his troops waited for the enemy to come. However, upon those leaving towards the gate to climb down the stairs, the strong samurai who learnt to understand their surroundings, saw ladders upon the East wall and immediately called for aide, and sent an officer to inform Fushi. The samurai charged and push their way in with those climbing and pushed the ladders away in a death march.

Troop Counts: Oda Nobunaga- 1,000 Samurai
Mori Ranmaru- 2,457 Ashigaru 6 Ladders
Mori Subunit(on wall)- 726 Ashigaru
VS
Tokugawa Fushi- 400 Samurai 500 Archers
Mikawa Subunit- 100 Samurai
---
The Clash between the Oda and the Mikawa Warriors have begun! as the samurai rush the arriving ashigaru climbing upon the (10) ladders! Seeing the situation as desperate, they fight to the death, taking down four times as many of their own of the Oda whilst cutting and pushing away, 4 ladders to prevent too many on the wall, but each with their life taken, making sure they did not fall alone. (Note: Whole Ashigaru unit cannot charge all at once, and due to the fort being high, the time taken to prepare ladders had to be extra long to reach the top, hence the amount). Furthur damage was caused as a result of the ladders pushed. Nevertheless, the opposing samurai are all defeated and now the ashigaru on the wall have now have a secure standing and the ladders protected for the remaining unit to climb next turn.

Nobunaga could see fighting commence on the walls of Tokugawa's fort, this made him smile. For he knew Ranmaru would not fail him. The troops would begin to flood upon the forts walls, amassing so much that they would overwhelm the defending force. Though they were a lot less trained than the Tokugawa Samurai.
-NPC Support Officer Mori Ranmaru
Ranmaru would be the next to climb the ladders. He had to command the men on the wall and to open the gate for Nobunaga. "Their end is near men! Open the gate!" Ranmaru would rush with a handful of men to attempt to open the gate.

Tokugawa Fushi (NPC)
Nearly a quarter of his samurai had left him to guard the gate which left only the Oda infront which stodd there, "The Fool of Owari has no idea how to fight like a true warrior as we do!", Fushi exclaimed to his men before a soldier came over to him, and pointed over to where he could now see his samurai charging back up the wall. Fushi was slow to see why until he saw enemy soldiers climbing into the wall, "Why that dirty.....Come! Archers move in and shoot them down, Samurai, charge and assist our forces by attacking the rear of them..MOVE!".
It all seemed to be an act of desperation, as his samurai charged down the steps and moved north-east to climb up the stairs that way. As soon as the samurai were away from the walls, the archers then lifted their bows and marched towards them, then as soon as they were in arrow range, fired to their hearts content.
In the meantime, the samurai, while seeing their comrades push and fight, moved up the stairs to surround them, but by the time they were up, their comrades had all fallen, "FOR MIKAWWWWWWA!", they shouted, before half of them charged in, knowing it'll be a fight to the death with the overwhelming numbers.

Oda Nobunaga is pleased that his plan had worked as his samurai lay in wait till the unit led by Ranmaru infiltrate the castle which he had much confidence in. Ranmaru himself climbs with the next half os his troops, charging for the gate, but only to be stopped with the arrival of Mikawa's warriors, as half of them defend the stairway to the castle, while the other half charge in. The Ashigaru under Ranmaru's command all prepare to fight.
Tokugawa Fushi is angered by Nobunaga's dirty trick and sends his samurai to aid his other samurai units by attacking the rear but by the time they reach there, the other samurai are all defeated. The samurai divide up, as 200 charge into the crowd to attack, while the remaining 200 guarded the stairway and also prepared to aid their comrades, who pelted their way through the enemy and like their fallen comrades, in a death march, also cut down the enemy's access.

The Samurai were known to be strong warriors, and the Mikawa Warriors were very much brave to fight to the end, but not enough for Oda's onslaught.
