Having found her way all to Bitchu Province, Yukiko stood on a cliff looking out towards the sea and the provinces of Sanuki, Awa, Iyo and Tosa. Over the course of her journey, she had come across several villages and settlements, mostly villages much like her own home.
The first village she found had been under attack from bandits several times for some months, and they couldn't stand much longer. Yukiko vowed to help them in the defense the next time an attack came, and with her resolve, she managed to rally the village militia to a surprising victory. Inspired by Yukiko's courage, the villagers wanted her to stay, but she kindly replied that she was still on a journey to find herself. So a few of the villagers vowed to follow Yukiko wherever she would go. She couldn't refuse them, and thus it was the start of her own small group.
After having cleared out several bandit camps, and gaining more followers on the way, the group arrived at a small town. It was almost like a small city, and they let the group in without hesitation. Apparently, the captain of the town guard had heard news of a ferocious warrior from the west, leading a group of spirited warriors, cleaning out the bandit camps along the roads who had caused trouble to the local villages. When Yukiko explained her situation, and apologized that they couldn't stay more than a few days, the captain gave her a few of his own soldiers and some equipment from the town armory, to further help her on her journey. Yukiko gladly accepted.
And now, with her own force, she stands on the cliff, watching out over the sea. Her second in command, a young fellow by the name of Hakizuku Shito, walked up beside her. "Yukiko-sama, what's troubling you?" "Oh, Shito-san. Nothing, I was just thinking of how to cross the sea. I think it's time we started to find more allies, or to join a larger force." "Well, the men are ready and awaits only your command. We will follow you wherever." "I know, thank you. Very well. Let's head down from the cliffs first. We also need to find a boat large enough to take us there. A port would be best. Let's move out!" Yukiko said and started moving. Shito smiled and followed suit, giving out the order to the rest of the force.

As the force started moving, Yukiko looked at the map she had acquired in the previous town, searching for a port town nearby. It seemed as if there was one only half a day's march away. She rolled up the map and turned to Shito. "We have half a day's march until we reach a port town, make sure we get there before nightfall." "As you wish, Yukiko-sama." Shito answered, while raising the tempo slightly.
By the time they arrived at the port, the sun was nearly set, and Yukiko was pleased with their speed. She ordered the force to put up a temporary camp just outside the city walls, to wait the night out. As the night drew to it's end, and dawn was about to break, the warning bells from the city rang, waking Yukiko and most of her force. Yukiko clothed herself, grabbed her swords and ran out of her tent, just as the guards on the wall called out; "BANDITS!!" Yukiko didn't hesitate. She took the first of her soldiers she could see and ordered him to blow the horn for assembly. Being in good shape from their continuous bouts along the road here, Yukiko's troops where quickly in formation, ready to move out. It seemed the bandit force was a large one, attacking from the northern hills, thus gaining the advantage of higher ground. Yukiko smiled. This was her most favorite position, fighting at a disadvantage. it made her think more clearly and act more naturally, more often than not granting her a victorious outcome. She sent a messenger to the city gates, explaining that she would help defend the city. With that done, there was only one more thing to do. Yukiko drew her swords and raised her voice. "To cleanse the land of bandits and villains! For justice! Charge!!" The small army started spreading out with even distances, and advanced quickly towards the north, towards the bandits.
An hour or so later, the battle was more or less over. Most bandits lay dead, the rest captured. Yukiko looked around and noticed she had lost quite a few good men; these bandits where not like the other rabble she had faced. She went to the captured group while sheathing her swords. "IF you wish to live, you may amend for your sins by joining my force. If you wish to remain alive, I expect you to be loyal to me and to each other. If you join me, I will not give you in to the city guard either, as you will be under my command, and I look after my subordinates. What say you?" She wasn't surprised to see all of the bandits wanting to join her. In all honesty, no one truly wishes to die anyway. With a smile, Yukiko sent a messenger to the city, explaining the situation. The city captain was understanding, seeing as Yukiko had just saved the city. He even offered some of the armory equipment to reinforce Yukiko's new recruits. Yukiko gladly accepted. Just after high noon, when her force where having lunch, a group of people came from the city and wanted to join Yukiko as thanks for saving their families and homes. Yukiko was skeptical at first, but when they insisted to join her, she couldn't refuse them. And so, her force grew even larger than before.
