Relations between the Elves and the Humans, a long with the Dwarven refugees, had been let us say Passive-Aggressive. With the new leadership of Jen Forenoon over the Elves she deemed it necessary to attack the Humans and keep them ever wary of the woods that were south. That enemies lurk everywhere and that you must always keep your guard up. Now she led her forces far from their homeland of Proelio.
Jen Forenoon had managed to convince the elven council to assemble 200 of their warriors to follow her here. Leaving the larger amount of their troops to defend their homeland. Though she believed that this was a sufficient enough of troops to teach these Humans a lesson. She waved her Staff and paused. Her undead army was not necessary quite yet as the battle had not started just yet.
Jen paused once again and turned to her 200 elven troops, before speaking to raise their spirits before the battle. "We have come here today to teach these Humans that the Elvish kind are not to be tested. That our homeland is one of true power and that none shall challenge our ways or even survive long enough to see it."
She chuckled a bit to herself. The army was quite large, much larger than the ones the elves used against themselves in the earlier years. Jen Forenoon only hoped that the Humans were led by incompetent men and poorly trained troops.

Alex had successfully recruited 200 troops to follow him and defend their home of Castrum. As well as finding Kangasha the Bard to assist in the battle as well. Despite him not being very confident, it would require the aid of the people to defend their homes and not just one man. The troops marched ahead while Alex, the King, and Kangasha the Bard walked. He hoped that he would prove to be a useful ally and that his life would not be ended here. Or that of his own to be honest.
"The time has come men. We must drive these Elves form our homeland and keep them out!" A little inspiration would not hurt as he wanted to keep morale at a constant steady rate. His bulky armor, shield and sword weighed heavily on him, but what weighed even more was protecting Castrum and the people. It was his duty as King to protect the people and keep them safe, but it was also the people who needed to defend themselves. Alex was just a symbol of the Human and Dwarven Empire. He was their shield and sword, while the people were the hearts of the Empire.

"So this is a battle field? I expected more of a crowd.. More of a skirmish compared to the tales I've heard and sung.."
Already joking about the battle, yet trying not to think about the lives that might be lost, Kangasha the Bard stood by his king. He still was unsure if he were to inspired the men, fight along side them, or both. Yet he would do whatever it took to survive, and do his best to try and avoid running away in the process.
