Character Biography:Account: dai007 Name: Kenshin Uesugi Age: 36 Affiliation: Uesugi Physical Imagery:History:Kenshin was born in the Echigo Province of Japan. He was the fourth son of Nagao Tamekage. Originally named Nagao Kagetora, he changed it several times until he stayed with Kenshin, after he became a Buddhist monk. He is primarily known for his strategic combat proess on the battlefeild. Because of this, he is sometimes referred to as "The Dragon of Echigo". He is also a devout follower of Bishamonten and was thought to be his avatar. For this reason, he is also called the "God of War". Kenshin's start came at the young age of fourteen years old. His brother had made a claim to control Nagao, which did not sit well with the people. They saw him as ineffective and pushed Kenshin to battle for control. After a struggle, he would eventually come out as the victor. Thus gaining full control of the Nagao Clan. With the clan over his control, it was now time for him to get some power, but with Takeda Shingen almost at the border of Echigo, he had to deal with him before doing anything else. This would be the beginning of the legendary feud between the Kenshin and Shingen. There were a total of five battles fought between the two. However, it was only until the fourth battle where things got heated. The fourth was the biggest and the most legendary. The others were all indecisive battles. It is also known that even though they were enemies on the battlefield, they greatly respected one another. The two often exchanged gifts. It was even said that when Shingen had died, Kenshin was deeply and sincerely hurt. He even allied with the Clan after a few more years. At one point, the Takeda Clan began to get cut off of salt from every other Daimyo. Kenshin believed this as dishonorable and secretly sent salt to them saying, "Wars are to be won with swords and spears, not with rice and salt." This statement made Kenshin one of the most noble warriors of all. Although he was famous for his battles in Kawanakajima, he also did other things. He took control of Etchu Province after turning on the Shiina Clan decades after allying with them. He also moved against the Hojo Clan but was ultimately unsuccessful in taking over and also boosted his reputation by making appearences in various historical spots. In one of his final battles, he fought against Oda Nobunaga in one of the largest wars ever fought during the Sengoku Period. However, he would never get to finish that because he was in horrible health. He eventually died at the age of fourty-nine. His death poem was "Forty Nine Years; One night's dream. A lifetime of glory; a cup of sake." Weaponry:Katana in the picture above.
