Character Biography:Account:Genghismike
Name:Takao Hitoshi
Age:24
Affiliation:Ronin
Physical Imagery:History: Born in Nagato Province to a merchant father during the waning years of the Ashikaga shogunate, his parents soon moved to the outskirts of Kyoto so that his father could further his dreams of becoming an established businessman. They lived in relative peace undisturbed during his early childhood years, despite the strife that soon began to boil between the factions backing the two Ashikaga brothers.
In his early teens, when the fighting erupted into nearly a full scale war, his parents were killed in the strife, leaving him a young Orphan. He managed to escape with his life, but the horrors of war would haunt his youth, altering his frame of mind and building the foundation for his view of war as a young man. He joined up with a roaming gang of bandits, and learned his way with a sword, along with how to fight for his survival and to steal what he needed to survive.
At some point during his short career as a rogue, the bandits attempted to accost a man who turned out to be a Ronin Seieibushi who had turned from the wars. Amazed with the raw potential that Hitoshi displayed at such a young age, the Ronin Samurai took the young teen under his wing after driving off his would be assailants.
Takao Hitoshi's life took a drastic change after the wandering swordsman took him on as a student, and he learned to earn his keep as well as the necessities of Respect and Honor. He turned from a life of banditry, to hunting out and defeating bandits across the countryside at the behest of the man he simply referred to as "Kensei".
His life as an apprentice, like his life as a bandit, was short lived. It was discovered that his Kensei was a fugitive, wanted throughout the land for desertion by the Daimyo who he had served. His Kensei was slain in a fight between other Samurai sent to collect his bounty, but before the fight, he had bidden Hitoshi to escape with his life, and to never forget the importance of Respect and Honor. He resisted at first, but his Master finally beat him nearly senseless and left Hitoshi with his katana before going to confront his pursuers.
Hitoshi spent the next few years of his life wandering the countryside as a warrior for hire, and spent the coin he earned in local taverns getting drunk. He grew such a tolerance to Sake that his fighting style wouldn't be hindered when he was in a drunken stupor. In fact, he discovered that it tended to aid him, by giving him the element of surprise when his opponents would underestimate him. He eventually made his way back to his birth province of Nagato with nothing but the clothes on his back and the sword which he had been given by his Master.
Weaponry:Rune Katana (Typhoon "Kamikaze"):
A beautiful Katana given to him by his Kensei before his death. The Katana is of excellent make, elegantly curved with a highly polished and razor sharp blade. Runes are engraved along the blade telling the story of the Typhoon which annihilated the Mongolian fleet during their invasion in the Kamakara Era. The blades perfect balance makes for fluid movements, allowing him to sweep gracefully through the ranks of troops, or in the case of duels, to parry and counter his opponents movements with ease. He never allows his Katana to be beyond his reach, prizing his weapon above all other things in life.
Engraved Metal Sake Jug:
A light weight yet extremely durable metal jug which he had came across one night. Engraved upon the metal surface is the image of two Komainu protecting the entrance to a temple against a horde of Oni. It has a sturdy handle which resembles a serpant dragon and has the word Seiryu engraved upon its back. He keeps the jug tied by a small length of cord attached to his sash.
Critical Strike:Drunken Master:
Using the Sake which is ever present in his jug, Takao Hitoshi takes a huge swig during the heat of battle, numbing him to enemy attacks. Because of his high tolerance to alchohol, it doesn't decrease his fighting ability by much, although it does make his movements appear more sluggish as though he were indeed drunk. This gives him an advantage because of the fact that the Average Soldier (NPC's) will view this as an edge for them against a drunken opponent, allowing him to slip more easily through their ranks and
slay more of the enemy troops with his Masters' Sword, especially since he'll be less concerned with the pain caused by enemy attacks.
Has no affect against Enemy Officers (Players) since their battle experiance will cause them to be more weary of this ruse. Can only be used
after 3 posts ( Due to alchohol having to take time to take affect ) and
only twice per battle ( Since getting too drunk would cause him to become incapacitated ).
