Oda Nobunaga had recovered from his illness. It was now time for Nobunaga to prove to those other daimyo who thought of him as weak during these times. It may of been just gossip, but it stung normal men. Though Nobunaga was no ordinary man.
Echizen was Nobunaga's next choice of land to nab up. In truth, his generals were serving him valiantly and something he would not soon forget. Hintsune Juyian was doing well, as usual she had taken another province in the name of the Oda. Likewise, Toyotomi Hideyoshi had came back and was defended Mikawa. It was now time for Nobunaga to strike back out, stronger than ever.
He marched through the province of Echizen and when his armies arrived to the only fortification here, he laughed. A small defense force set in motion by the local prefecture was sure to be the only resistance. Of course it would be no match in the face of the Oda Samurai. Although Nobunaga knew this province was surely going to be his, he had his eyes set on a bigger prize, all of Japan.
Oda had brought 5,395 Samurai and 500 Archers. The Samurai would form up their ranks as normal fashion in the Oda ranks. While the Archers were assigned to be posted next to them. The Oda armies approached the fort and the Archers would begin to open fire. Their targets would be any on top of the walls or rather more so within them. "This land shall be mine and I will usher in the rule of the Oda!" Was the only words he would spare here today.

Turn Results: Oda Nobunaga has struck out after his recent isolation due to illness. He has marched to Echizen in hopes of conquering this province as well. The defense here was a bit more stern than the others, but in the face of the Oda their morale would falter. Cries could be heard throughout the fort, The Oda have come!" Before volleys of arrows rained over the fort.

The Samurai would form a 'moon' shape formation, more of a crescent, around the gate into the fort. Any enemies to advance forward would meet the well trained Samurai. As the Archers continued their volley into the fort. Nobunaga cared not on how he won, but that he did win. Especially if the victory offered him anything.
Nobunaga stood tall. His recent illness had seemed to all go away. No cough, no slouching, not one sign of weakness was visible in him. Oda Nobunaga was back and Japan was surely to suffer until he ruled or was killed.

Turn Results: The Oda lines continue their volley of arrows into the fort. Seeing no other options the defense force sets out to meet the Oda army head on. Unfortunately, their morale is falling and they will encounter Oda's Crescent Moon formation at the gates. When the gates open and the defense force sets out, they are limited by the gate. Less troops come out and therefor the Oda lines slay many of them before they even advance.

His lines were impenetrable, as far as he was concern. The Oda Samurai were well disciplined and had yet to lose a single battle. The Crescent Moon formation was a wise decision here and was proving it. While he allowed the Archers to continue their barrage of arrows to keep the inner defense force at bay. This would be another victory for Oda and it seemed that Nobunaga's return was going to be a strong one.

Mercy, something that the Oda force would need to hand out a few times. Although generally Nobunaga was against it, but it had its purposes. He could refill his ranks and gain some of the people hearts. After all, besides for himself, he was doing this for the people. If he could conquer Japan he would give the land back to the people, simple as that.
The formation was holding strong and none could hold against it would seem. "Surrender now and you shall walk away with your lives or stand a fight. The choice is yours." This is what he said before another volley of arrows rained over the wall, into the fort.

Nobunaga hears the a chant coming from within the fort, "For the Oda!" As many of the defense force surrender to his banner. If the rest would not surrender then they would just die. He orders the archers to halt fire as to kill his own men. While the crescent moon formation holds strong and the defense force is now pincered between his own men and those that have surrendered.

It would seem that the defense force would not surrender so easily. Nobunaga was well prepared for this and ordered the units to begin an all-out attack. Sacrificing the formation, of course, and beginning a full charge to decimate the defense force. All except for the Archers of course, no friendly fire was needed.

(Short posts, but not much to say)
Nobunaga chuckles as reports were coming in that Hintsune Juyian was proving quite useful. Another province had fallen and many more were to come. Nobunaga would need to finish quickly to free up some of his forces. The units would continue the slaughter, except for the Archers.

His assault was proving very effective. More and more turned to the Oda banner and this victory was surely to come soon. It only depressed him a little seeing that it was taking so long to claim Echizen. Nobunaga had more pressing matters to attend to and this need to be wrapped up soon. The Samurai, both loyal and well trained, had seen many battles now and the defense force here was laughable. They stood no chance really.
