After speaking with his lord, Chosokabe Motochika, Zhuge Liang devised a plan to hinder the Oda further advancements. In fact what Zhuge was to do was be a thorn in the Oda's side. Launching a boat from Iyo, a Kansen boat, Zhuge would take a long journey to Suruga. Upon his arrival his men and himself would secure the landing area.
The fortification here would be undermanned as the main force of the Oda was preoccupied in Kii. The defenses here would be light, but Zhuge was prepared for the unexpected. In recent events the Oda had formed an alliance with Date Masamune and it was possible that he would arrive here. More or less as reinforcements to defend against Zhuge's expedition.
When the troops under Zhuge would complete their landing and the securing of the landing area, he would then order them to prepare for the inevitable arrival of enemy reinforcements. The engineers within his rank would begin their preparations and would be sneaking around.
Arriving with the following troops: 600 Engineers, 800 Monks, 1 Kansen
Note the boat is sitting behind them, in the water of course.

With the recent alliance between the Oda and the Date, the former's grip on the mainland increased dramatically. Masamune was still young, but already a capable and feared warrior in his homeland. Nobunaga, on the other side, was both feared and hated throughout Japan by his methods of treatment and the arrogance he showed during his campaigns. One of their enemies, and perhaps the most dangerous one, was the Chosokabe from Shikoku. Word was that they had recently conquered additional lands and their influence was starting to spread.
When they arrived at Suruga though, Nobunaga couldn't do anything about it, as he was in a battle in Kii. This left Masamune little to no choice but to venture all the way south and help his ally, and this was confirmed when he received an official order to head over to Suruga and push back the Chosokabe forces. Even though he didn't have a formed army yet, he obeyed, leading his 8,000 ashigaru south. It would take quite some time to arrive, but when they did, they'd just sweep away the Chosokabe and be on their way back home. After all, they had someone they had to deal with in Mutsu, the former land of the Date.
Defending with 8,000 ashigaru when he arrives at Suruga.

Turn Results: Zhuge Liang devised a dastardly plan. He aimed to be a thorn in the Oda's side and attacked the province of Suruga. While the main force of the Oda was per-occupied in Kii, Date Masamune was forced to defend Suruga. Zhuge Liang ordered engineers to begun some sneaky stuff before the defending force arrived. Date Masamune arrives this turn and is next to the fort. While Zhuge is in the open field.

The Engineers should be finishing up their orders as a few return, accomplished with their tasks. Zhuge Liang waved his fan and prepared for the coming battle. He had played the next five battles in his head over and over, but no amount of planning would assure victory. It had to be done on the battlefield and above all else, in the heat of it. The Monks would form up rank as the returning Engineers sneek in past them for safe keeping. When the rest finished they would also return.

Masamune arrived at Suruga and proceeded to look for the attackers, who weren't exactly attacking the fort by the time. "Great, then no damage will be made at all", he thought. He was very confident for the battle ahead, as his numbers were not small at all.
He ordered his troops to circle the area around the fortification looking for Chosokabe banners and personally led them in their task, while leaving a part of his unit behind in case they didn't find them and they had already reached their goal. "This can't be hard at all, come on! We'll finish those guys up and return to Hokkaidö. We have some unfinished business up there, remember?" His troops cheered and advanced in no exact direction.
- 6,000 troops will look for Zhuge Liang in a wide area around the fort - 2,000 troops will stay at the fort and attack at will in case Zhuge arrives

Turn Results: Date Masamune would show his youth here, his hot-hotheadedness might just well be his greatest weakness. The famed Zhuge Liang, a master tactician, had laid many traps by now. The search party, lead by Masamune, would encounter one of the traps on this turn. 50 troops would fall into pitfalls and be killed by pointy sticks. Zhuge's engineers have all arrived safely back to the beach.
Troop Counts:
Chosokabe Banner- Zhuge Liang- 600 Engineers, 800 Monks, 1 Kansen
Oda-Date Alliance- Date Masamune- 7,950 Ashigaru

From the beach Zhuge's unit was not hidden, but he could understand why the unit would search the fortification first. Though he believed the enemy to be in possession of an inept leader. Zhuge Liang sat in the chair that was positioned on the beach with the head captains of the Engineering units.

Masamune's movements were read by Zhuge Liang. A small amount of troops had fallen victim to his traps, such as pitfalls with pointy sticks. But he wouldn't give up because of something like this, after all he was the One-Eyed Dragon of Öshu; he decided to lead his troops in the direction of the beach, where scouts reported the sight of enemy soldiers, but to avoid himself being caught by the traps, he sent a handful of troops up front, to activate any possible traps, and he would just follow them and get to the beach unscathed.

Turn Results: Seeing his troops fall into the pitfalls changed Masamune's tactics. As he ordered a smaller unit to advance ahead of his vanguard unit to activate any of the traps to prevent casualties on a much larger scale. The advance party encounters more pitfalls, but secure a path through the traps to allow Masamune's unit to advance further. While his reserve unit is within the fort they have seemed to not encounter any forces at all. Not ally nor enemy, but at that moment a bang was heard as a building within the fort was caught on fire and a fire started to break out. Zhuge's unit does not do much, but wait.
Troop Counts:
Chosokabe Banner- Zhuge Liang- 600 Engineers, 800 Monks, 1 Kansen
Oda-Date Alliance- Date Masamune- 7,932 Ashigaru

After the battle of Sanuki, Nobuchika hung about in Sanuki for awhile for troop morale and for respecting the fallenm, before returning to Tosa for tutellage under Zhuge Liang, as well as continuing his training inbetween and of course resting.
Zhuge Liang then informed him that he had a word with father and that it was important to slow down Oda and to be a thorn in his side, so he would leave Shikoku. He has surprised that Zhuge Liang would take him along with him, but he would indeed miss his father, and Tosa and Shikoku, but knew well that his father would be alright, and so, he boarded the kansen with Zhuge Liang.
Zhuge Liang wished to put his plans into place, so while he was putting his plans into place, he got some exercise on the deck of the Kansen, exercising his muscles and keeping fit before leaping off the deck onto the sand and rushing uptowards Zhuge Liang who was seated calmly on the peach with his fan in his hand, with other leaders sat next to him.
He circled round till he faced Zhuge Liang and bowed, "I hope I am not too late. Where would you have me", awaiting his response while keeping a smile, since it was nice to be on land again and was ready for action. Actions: Nobuchika has arrived on the scene

Zhuge Liang smiled as his apprentice arrived. He was overjoyed that Motochika had allowed his son to come all this way with him. He knew that Motochika would of liked to have his own son fighting with him rather than off in the mainland. Though he knew Motochika understood and put great trust within Zhuge. "Greetings Nobuchika. Before us is the enemy, watch as they fall through our pitfalls and their reserved unit is light a fire."

Suddenly, the guards protecting the fort witnessed a fire spreading within it. They managed to escape unscathed, with some of them having small burns, but the majority of them had regrouped in front of the fort a ways away from the actual place. Masamune's plan of going back to the north with no damage dealt to the fortification they were supposed to protect had ultimately failed, and though not certain, it could possibly be the enemy's work. The 2,000 men decided to rendezvous with Masamune by their own, but arriving on the open field they saw the many traps that Zhuge had laid down and proceeded carefully between the pitfalls, where it should be safe. Their goal was the beach.
Meanwhile, Masamune's unit was still marching carefully through the fields, but due to the proximity to the beach, they could now see enemy movement. "So, you think your boats will save you? Forward! We have a bunch of idiots we must deal with!" But Masamune was no fool. He knew this would be another enemy trap, and he would end up falling to it like an idiot. The main force advanced while he and 100 of his men stayed behind, planning something...

Turn Results: The fort light a flame, Masamune's reserve unit withdraws from the fort and aims to meet with him. While Masamune and his unit himself traverse the dangerous field full of traps ahead of him. Zhuge Liang and Chosokabe Nobuchika have begun retreating onto the boat. They will have completed preparations to launch at the end of this turn.

The preparations to leave were well underway. While Zhuge spoke to Nobuchika, the men would be loading up on the boats. "Nobuchika, this is to be our stratagems against the Oda. You may see this as cowardly, but it is a victory in my book. If we get away successfully without loosing any men, then the enemy will always be loosing men from us. While we advance to another place."

Masamune's unit arrived on the beach after overcoming many of Zhuge Liang's traps. At least on their way back there would be no dangers, at least no known ones. They saw enemy troops preparing to launch their boats, it looked like they were going to withdraw from the battle. "Fools! With such small numbers, what did they hope to accomplish?" Masamune still had time to shout before ordering the rest of his troops to advance in the direction of the ship, slaying anyone in their way. He himself stood back and saw the rest of his troops, the ones that stood behind to guard the fort, advancing in his direction. He went in their own direction and left the rest of his troops fighting on the beach.
Battle Plans: Masamune will rendezvous with his 2,000 men unit and the 6,000 one will go after the enemy troops loading the ships.
