Zhuge Liang spoke about how it was fated that they were to meet this day, and how his son may of had a part in it. It had to be fate if anything else, as Zhuge Liang's arrival was not expected at all, but his arrival was indeed well recieved, and even if his son was not in the state he was in, which would of been healed by now if he hadn't of had to climb down those steps and escape. If only he had ordered the charge earlier, so that Kanesada would of surrendered earlier. However, one could not control the past, but one could make a better future. His son would be the future after him, and the one to continue after he had passed, though he wasn't planning on giving up yet.
Entering the chamber, Zhuge Liang then proposed that their forces divide. To do so, would indeed unite Shikoku alot quicker, and with the additional of Zhuge Liang to his ranks now, he had the manpower to be able to do so. Perhaps charge Nobuchika to support Zhuge Liang, as he could learn from his strategies. He would take Iyo as initially planned, the question was whether to go East to Sanuki, or northeast over the isle's mountainous route to get to Awa which had a love for raiding.
Many strategies relied on certain conditions, or what armanent they had in their possession, for Nobuchika was no Zhao Yun that Zhuge Liang was acquainted too, but maybe he could be. Afterall, his son was the strongest out of all his sons, and one he was proud of to lead his forces into battle. Unfortunately, not all his sons were battle worthy.
"I have much confidence in your abilities Zhuge Liang", as the maid enters with two trays, where one was passed to Zhuge Liang and one to him, in which there was some delicious food from the fisherman, alongwith some wine, in which Motochika thanked the maid with a smile and a nod of his head.
The problem with taking two territories now, would be that the economy of the Chosokabe was currently low, while the Kono had links with those on the mainland, and the Miyoshi had trade links with the mainland also. Perhaps he should personally see what Zhuge Liang is made of in battle in taking the mountainous route into Awa to prevent their raids from continuing, and then divide their army to take over their harbours and prevent trade and reinforcements, before closing in on them.
He took a sip of his wine after putting down his shamisen, before his eyes looked up at Zhuge Liang, "When we return to Oka, you may use whatever resources are avaliable to you in regards to Shikoku and the land, involving both history, and the shape of the land which is no doubt necessary in planning out strategies to know where to position our forces".
He paused, "With your aid, we can certainly divide our forces and achieve victory and unify Shikoku alot quicker, though it is my thoughts that our main force push into Awa, cut the Kono and Miyoshi's links with the mainland, and then attack them both simulatenously. If their lines remain open, then we could be dealing with the mainland more sooner than desired", he stated, speaking out of the plan he now had in mind, before smiling, "Though if you have a particular plan in mind, please speak your mind Zhuge Liang", not wishing to force his own plans on his subjects, especially one who had cunning plans of their own which were successful.

Zhuge would sit very slowly, he was after all accustomed to standing quite a lot. He would think of what his new master had told him, indeed the mainland would prove more troublesome than Shikoku or Kyushu. "You do seem to know the ways of strategy, Motochika." Zhuge would be referring to his knowledge of the land as well as the plan that he had.
He would take a bite out of the fish, chew and swallow before speaking to Motochika. After all it would be rude to speak with a mouthful of food. "In China, I had a warrior that I could rely on, one Zhao Yun." He would pause and set his fan down. "This warrior was so capable in his abilities that my stratagems would tend to revolve around him." Though he did not mean that without this warrior they would fail either, just stating how promising the warrior was.
"Maybe your son, the injured one. When recovered he could become my Zhao Yun." Zhuge would need a warrior who he could rely on. Someone he could give a mission to and have very little doubt that he would fail. "The use of your son in my stratagems would be invaluable." As he took a sip of wine he would look up to his new master.
"Whatever you wish to happen, I shall serve and you shall have my full abilities at your disposal..."

Motochika cut into his fish, and began to eat, but only small chunks at a time so it was edible and quick to eat should the need to respond to Zhuge Liang arise, though the food was more for Zhuge Liang than him, but allowing him to eat alone would be rude, and so he had joined him.
"You do seem to know the ways of strategy, Motochika", Zhuge Liang commented, in which he responded with a smirk, "I know how to defend my people, that is all, and the last thing I wish to do is put my people and my men in danger by not properly examining the situation, so I only know some from my readings, but have nothing to fear with your great wisdom Zhuge Liang", his smirk turning into a smile, as his wisdom could not compete with that of one of the greatest srategists ever known.
As if Zhuge Liang was ready him like pages of a book, he then begin to speak of Zhao Yun and later suggesting that his son be like Zhao Yun and be one to assist in his strategies like back in China, in which he began to laugh, finding it hard to keep a straight face, despite the seriousness of it all, but least it shown that as a Lord, he had a sense of humour and a heart, unlike the image Nobunaga presented.
When he recovered, he took a sip of wine before turning to Zhuge Liang, "My apologies for my outburst, but found it funny how I was thinking the same thing not long ago before you suggested it", with a smile on his face, as the saying goes, great minds think alike, perhaps he underestimated himself, "I am sure my son would be thrilled to be part of your plans, as well as to help make himself stronger which he continually does with his training".
He then thought back to when they first met, before raising his voice again after the moment's silence, "You said when you first spoke to me, how good generals select intelligent officers, thoughful advisors and brave subordinates.....with my wisdom, your intellect and my son's courage, I have no doubt whatsoever that we can achieve great things Zhuge Liang", before raising his glass with a smile for a toast.

Zhuge would smile widely. Motochika had been exactly what he was looking for, a noble and just ruler. Motochika would repeat what he had said in the early hours of when they first met. Even Zhuge enjoyed hearing others repeat what he had said, whether it be self serving or not.
"You speak ever most wisely." As Motochika would raise his glass, so would Zhuge in toast. "I have no doubt either Motochika." He would think of his previous life in China, wars were fought differently and this would move him into his next wisely chosen words.
He would lower his glass after the toast and look into Motochika's eyes. "I bare only one warning my new master." Zhuge meant no disrespect by these words, but he was serious. "Be ever weary of the men in the mainland, no strategy I could ever muster could save you from fate." He was not really meaning fate, what he meant was that the men in the mainland were very dangerous and would stop at nothing to accomplish their goals.

Motochika smiled as their two cups clashed against one another, as Zhuge Liang agreed with him, before lowering his glass to give a warning, "Be ever weary of the men in the mainland, no strategy I could ever muster could save you from fate".
"We have always been weary of the mainland, which is why we have settled here in Shikoku. The mainland has always erupted in wars whereas Shikoku has been at peace until the mainland interfered with putting a mainland Governor in our midst, but your warning is duley noted".
As far as fate was concern, if fate had brought him Zhuge Liang, and having Zhuge Liang was said to bring the ruler the capability of ruling the land, then surely it was fate that desired him to rule, but despite it all, fate couldn't save him from those who went against fate, and would want to do what they must to succeed.
Taking a few more pieces of fish and wrapping with the noddles and dipping into the sauce provided, Motochika then proceeded to finish his plate, since the plate was not overloaded as it would of been if he presented Zhuge Liang with a feast, but it would be something that would be too big, as well as the fact he didn't want to fill himself to the top yet.
"Do you play, Zhuge Liang?", he asked curiously, seeing that Zhuge Liang drawed near when he was playing his shamisen, though it was an instrument unknown to him and his lands, yet perhaps an instrument could be presented to Zhuge Liang, as music calms the soul and encourages those around him, and if Zhuge Liang would subdue the Kono or the Miyoshi, he'd need to represent him for his men that would follow him so he would not be seen as a foreigner.
The time he had spent with Zhuge Liang, despite how short, it seemed he knew him for much longer. Motochika had taken quite a liking to his new strategist, and to see that his dreams would become reality.

Zhuge would finish the nice meal and push the plate to the side. "Friends are made easier over food and drink" He would then take another drink from the glass and set it down gently. Motochika would reply to his previous statements and once again Motochika had the answer he was looking for. Motochika would then proceed to question him of musical instruments. Zhuge would notice his Shamisen as it looked family to instruments they had in China.
"No my lord, I do not play." Zhuge would smile. "Though my last wife played during times of peace, those very few times..."

"No my lord, I do not play....though my last wife played during times of peace, those very few times...", Zhuge Liang responded as Motochika listened. It was indeed sad that music had to wait for times of peace, when the time to bring comfort was most needed in times of war.
"That is a shame", referring to the few times of peace, though also felt sorry for him for his wife since he was now in a strange land, "Though if you do wish to play, maybe the harp? I can have my musicians help you. Afterall, you are giving me the honor to have your services, allow me to repay by making you feel at home in what seems to be a strange land, though soon, you too will come to love Shikoku as much as I do", smiling.
He picked up his shamisen and begun to strum, "These troubled times do change men's hearts, but even in times of war, is when music is mostly needed, to bring comfort, aswell as to rally the men so they do not fear what may lie ahead, knowing that each is joined together, in harmony", smirking at his words, as he too played a harmony...such a play on words.
Just then, there was a knock on the door, in which the physician entered and bowed, "Milord, Master Nobuchika has left his bedside, but you need not fear, for he is much recovered".
Motochika smiled and thanked the physician with a bow, before turning to Zhuge Liang, "I now have an important duty to perform. You are welcome to Tamematsu and all that it offers. In due course, we shall leave for Oka and prepare for our next move now all is well", as he stood up and bowed, "I bid you well Zhuge Liang", before swinging his shamisen against his shoulders, and following the physician out of his chamber...
